Session Manager browser extension
This policy describes how the Session Manager extension (“the extension”) handles information when you use it in Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Mozilla Firefox. The extension helps you save, organize, restore, and back up groups of browser tabs.
Who we are
Session Manager is distributed as a browser extension. For privacy questions about this extension, contact the developer using the support channel listed on the extension’s store listing (Chrome Web Store or Firefox Add-ons).
Information the extension uses
When you save a session, the extension may store locally on your device:
- Web page URLs and titles of open tabs
- Whether a tab is pinned or was the active tab in its window
- Optional favicon URLs provided by the browser
- Your labels for sessions: name, color, tags, and folder
- Your UI preference for theme (system, light, or dark)
When you click Restore, the extension opens tabs using the saved URLs. The extension reads your currently open tabs only when you use save or preview features—not continuously in the background.
Where data is stored
All session data is kept in your browser’s local extension storage
(storage API). It stays on your computer unless you choose to
export a JSON file or import one. Export and
import are initiated by you; files are saved or opened through your operating
system, not uploaded to us by default.
What we do not do
- We do not require an account or sign-in.
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your browsing data.
- We do not use advertising or analytics SDKs in the extension.
- We do not transmit your saved sessions to our own servers.
Network requests
The extension may cause your browser to load favicon images from third-party services (for example, Google’s favicon service) when showing tab previews. Those requests are made by the browser to display icons only; we do not send your full session export to those services.
Apart from favicon display and normal browser behavior when you open tabs, the extension does not need broad access to websites you visit.
Permissions
- tabs — to read open tab URLs and titles when you save a session, and to open windows and tabs when you restore.
- storage — to save sessions, folders, tags, and settings on your device.
Data retention and deletion
Data remains until you delete sessions, folders, or uninstall the extension. Uninstalling the extension removes locally stored extension data from your browser. Exported JSON files on your disk are your responsibility to delete if you no longer need them.
Children
The extension is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the extension changes. The “Last updated” date below will be revised when we do. Continued use of the extension after changes means you accept the updated policy.
Your rights
Because data is stored locally, you can access, change, or delete it anytime inside the extension, or by removing the extension from your browser. If you are in a region with specific privacy rights (for example, the EEA or UK), you may contact us through the store support channel for questions about this processing.
